William Ling studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design. Soon after graduating (1988) he became active in what was a small group of artists, writers, curators and dealers who were making exhibitions magazines and events in London. During this period William Ling presented the first solo shows of Gavin Turk, Adam Chodzko and Simon Periton.
During the mid Nineties he returned to Saint Martins to teach and began representing his wife and collaborator, artist Tanya Ling.
In 2000 he presented the first ever exhibition of International Contemporary Fashion Illustration at the Mayor Gallery, London and started an artists representation agency, Ling&Ling. In 2005 he organised the photography exhibition, My Beauty Picture Show curated by Ekow Eshun. In 2006 he opened a project space on Golborne Road, London W10.
March 2007 - launches FIG, the new Fashion Illustration Gallery created to sell original works and multiples by artists who have become well known as fashion illustrators. www.fashionillustrationgallery.com
